Thanksgiving in Action, Matching Your Gift
Everyone at the BOL Home sends greetings from Romania. We are thankful to God that our 50-year-old building, which has been the Bread of Life Children’s Home since 2003, has kept us safe so far. Over 300 children have passed through this home since we opened, and at present, the BOL Home and Youth Transition Program together are home to 90 children. Both the BOL Home and Youth Transition Program have used this building as a haven over the years.
For the last few years, we have been working on renovations to the BOL Home to provide a safer and healthier environment for the children. Once again, we plead the children’s cause and ask your help to address some urgent repairs needed inside the building. Recently some old pipes broke, requiring more than minor maintenance in both the girl’s and boy’s shower areas. Also, the heating system needs some new parts, and with winter approaching, this is of great importance to keep the 90 rooms of our building warm. With God’s blessing and your help, we hope to fix the showers, toilets, and sinks for both floors and replace the heating system’s needed parts.
Can you imagine going through winter without a shower or heat? We do not consider being able to shower or have heat a luxury but a necessity for our precious children. Adequate sanitation for the children is not just a desire but also a mandatory need during this pandemic.
These repairs are quite costly, but we are thankful for a church that shares our burden and has extended a pledge to cover half of the cost. We received part of the needed amount
from our newsletter appeal last month, but we need your help to raise the final $13,500 for
Would you prayerfully consider making a one-time donation or pledge to give a gift by Christmas to help us complete these renovations? Whether your gift purchases a shower ($450), a sink ($200), or whatever amount you can give toward pipes and other items, it will be a blessing. No donation is too small. Little by little, through each gift, we send God’s love to the children.
We faithfully trust God to meet this need, and we feel blessed and excited to be part of God’s active family. We look forward to sharing with you in the future how God supplies this need through his body of believers.
You are in our prayers.
