Project: Outgrowing Our Clothing
What do you do with outgrown winter clothing?
Every year as we, in the U.S., approach spring, our thoughts turn to warmer days devoid of bulky coats and heavy winter clothes. While preparing to put those clothes away and pull out lighter spring clothes, we sometimes wonder, “Will this fit again next year?”This question is especially likely when it comes to our children. During this change in seasons, many will clean out and reorganize closets, removing articles of clothing that our children did not wear or will have outgrown come the next winter season. Children grow so fast and sometimes the coat we started the winter with is almost too small even before the season is over. The coats and clothes are still in good condition, but little Johnny or Susie will be too big for them next year. What do we do with them?
We would like to offer a suggestion.
The Bread of Life Orphanage and Feeding Centers are ALWAYS in need of coats and winter clothing. You can clean out your closets, make room for the spring clothes, and help someone in Romania, all at the same time. Winter is one of the most difficult times of the year in Romania for many poor families who attend the feeding centers. The need for coats and heavy clothing is always tremendous. Because of this, Bread of Life collects donated winter items year round, storing them in the warehouse so that we can be prepared to fill this need when winter arrives.
Will you please consider donating your gently used coats and winter clothing instead of storing them this year?
Your child probably will not wear the same size coat and clothing next year, but
that outgrown coat and winter clothes could keep a child in Romania warm next year. A child in Romania who did not have a coat or winter clothing would treasure your child’s outgrown articles. So clean out your closets this spring and send those coats and winter clothing to Bread of Life Orphanage in preparation for next winter.
