Jesus How I Adore You
I am moving to Romania – across the Atlantic Ocean, 5,600 miles away from a place I have called home for 25 years. I first felt the Lord’s call in 2013 during my first short-term trip, but little guidance came with this initial revelation. Over the past 5 years, the Lord has softly guided me in the direction of His plan.
At 19 years old, riding on the bus to the Atlanta airport I prayed a prayer from a song called “Like an Avalanche” by Hillsong United my simple but bold prayer was:
Lord, Take my life
Take all that I am
With all that I am I will love You
Take my heart
Take all that I have
Jesus how I adore You
So simple but I meant it with everything in me. Growing up in church listening to the amazing stories of redemption where God moved in people’s lives, I developed a desire in my heart for a God-written story. I wanted to see God move in my life. I believed He created me for a purpose and I wanted His plan for my life to prevail.
In pursuit of this calling, I have taken six trips to Romania between school semesters. In 2016, I graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education. In 2018, I graduated from Lee University with a Master of Science in Holistic Child Development. Along with short-term trips, I have worked towards raising funds and managing U.S. projects in my local church on behalf of Bread of Life.
When I get to Romania, I will be serving in the Youth Transition Program in Bucharest, Romania. My role is to bring education, love, and discipleship to the children and youth of Bread of Life through a mentor relationship as well as develop programs for the purpose of improving positive youth development. I am excited to use the gifts God has given me to bless others. I always knew God had called me to serve others but through recent years had wondered what His plan was for my life, now I find myself just a few weeks away from boarding a plane to move across the ocean. I am so excited about beginning this journey and humbled by the opportunity to pour into the children and families of Romania.
