From Grace To Grace
One of the great blessings for the staff of the Bread of Life ministry is to know you as a supporter and co-worker. In Colossians 2:1 Paul spoke about his affection for even those who had never seen his face. Like Paul we are with you in spirit or rather I should say you are with us as we minister your gift to the poor. Let me tell you more so you can understand and share in our joy at a deeper level.
Our Feeding Center Program, as you know, focuses primarily on children whose families are so poor that giving them a good meal once a day gives them and their family relief in a most basic human way within a Christian environment. Through the Feeding Centers and the participating churches we [you] are able to extend this blessing to the poor elderly in the same villages. Many of the elderly live alone without the medical care they would have in a western country. Visiting them and sharing food and basic items relieves their suffering and lifts their spirits. They praise God when they receive your blessing and we know this because often they thank Him right out loud in a spontaneous way as the poor often do when help arrives.
The photos you see include our work in a village called Lumina. This means “light” in Romanian. It was a great joy to bring light to this village! John the Baptist said this about the Savior: “From the fullness of His grace we have all received one blessing after another.” [John 1:16-17]. This describes how we feel when we can extend the blessings beyond the Feeding Centers: “One Blessing After Another!”
