“I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.” 1 Cor 3:6
In all that we do through our ministry programs by feeding, clothing, sheltering, counseling, and mentoring, we have one ultimate goal: to bring the poor children into a close relationship with their heavenly Father. Discipleship is not an easy task and does not happen by merely preaching God’s word. It requires dedication and unconditional love each day for as long as it takes. Together through our efforts, we are fulfilling the planting and watering, but it is God that touches the hearts and makes them grow toward Him.
In our human impatience, we feel that after planting and watering, the “growing” part should happen quickly. We are so eager for results for His glory that we tend to be disappointed when results are delayed. But Glory to God for His perfect plan and perfect timing. In the village of Harsova we started the feeding program five years ago. Children from this largely Muslim community attend our feeding and Bible programs. Today, five years later, they are no longer children but young adults. It was a great joy to us when a number of them decided to follow Jesus and give their lives to the Lord. Now their faith is growing through discipleship and Bible study. We have learned to keep planting and watering no matter how long it takes; trusting God that in due time He will make the increase. Please pray for our young people from the Feeding Center that they will continue on their journey in Christ to become more like Him.
